Spring is often referred to as the most beautiful season of the year—the days are longer, the sun is shining brighter, the flowers are blooming, and the birds are chirping. It brings a sense of renewal and rejuvenation that we naturally want to incorporate into our homes as well, giving life to the popular term “Spring Cleaning.” It’s a tradition that many partake in to freshen up their home and get a jump-start on the hectic months ahead.
Organizing doesn’t have to be a big event you plan to set aside a whole or even half a day for. Try purging as you go through your normal daily activities instead. Next time you cook, pack up those extra pots or dishes that live in the back of the cupboard and drop them off at the local Goodwill or Salvation Army. When you’re getting dressed in the morning, start setting aside items in your closet that you haven’t worn in a while or that don’t fit you anymore.
Let’s face it, sometimes we just need more space! When you don’t have the storage space you need, it’s time to get creative. No room for your jewelry in the dedicated jewelry box? Try hanging necklaces, earrings, and bracelets on a hanger instead. No more room for pots in the cupboards? Hang them on a pot rack!
You don’t have to be a Fashionista to have an affinity for labels … labels for your home that is! Labels remind us of where things should go. They are especially useful in any household with 2 or more people. Each person will know what goes where, easily keeping items in their designated places, not to mention your home in order.
